From its dramatic key changes to its horn-filled instrumentation, Beyoncé‘s ‘4’ hit ‘Love On Top’ has frequently found itself atop the favorite song list of her beloved fans (affectionately called the #Beyhive) since its 2011 arrival.

That praise and adoration continues over a decade later, as evidenced by a Valentine’s Day-inspired Billboard article that ranked the top 50 love songs of the 21st century.
And while her signature, JAY Z-assisted hit ‘Crazy In Love’ (2003) was listed among the picks, it was ‘Top’ that ultimately took the top spot.
In celebration of Love Day, the Music Bible graded and rated 50 of what it deemed the best 21st century love songs.
At its summit was Bey’s ‘Love On Top,’ a position that saw it outrank major hits from the likes of Drake, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and others.
Look below to see the top 10:
Billboard’s Best Love Songs of the 21st Century
- Beyonce’s ‘Love on Top’
- Mariah Carey’s ‘We Belong Together’
- Frank Ocean’s ‘Thinking Bout You’
- Alicia Keys’ ‘If I Ain’t Got You’
- Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’
- Harry Styles’ ‘Adore You’
- Sade’s ‘By Your Side’
- King Princess’ ‘1950
- Ed Sheeran’s – ‘Thinking Out Loud’
- Miguel’s ‘Adorn’
A #1 R&B hit for the diva at the apex of its popularity, ‘Top’ – which is certified GOLD for sales of over 500,000 in the United States alone – is etched in Pop culture history for a live performance at the 2011 MTV VMAs where the songstress revealed she was pregnant with her first child, Blue Ivy.
